PEER COUNSELOR
AAH is seeking to hire primary consumers of mental health services who are either certified or in training for certification as a Peer Counselor. WRAP training preferred and expected upon hire.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Peer Counselors work to foster an environment that promotes responsibility, cooperation, and consideration by treating residents with respect and dignity and by maintaining confidentiality and integrity at all times. Peer Counselors need to provide their own transportation and have a good driving record to assist clients as needed in meeting their needs and goals.

  1. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
    1. On-site resident supervision daily;
    2. Plan with residents and implement recreational or social activities;
    3. Provide transportation for clients;
    4. Peer counseling;
    5. Assist residents in moving in and adjusting to living independently;
    6. Complete routine documentation such as incident reports, progress notes, house meeting notes, records of expenditures of house money, etc;
    7. Oversee residence housekeeping to meet AAH standards;
    8. Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or Housing Director.
